At The Art Spark, our core values are rooted in valuing individuality and self-worth. We aim to create moments of joy and happiness, understanding the challenges of aging and the importance of creative engagement. This inspiration comes from seeing the power of art on peoples emotional wellbeing. Families are sometimes surprised how much their loved one can achieve. It’s a privilege to provide in house art and craft sessions to our clients.
Making a difference through art
We believe that art can transform lives, especially for the elderly. One rewarding part of providing art and craft sessions is to see the impact on our clients' emotional wellbeing. For instance, when a patient is agitated and wandering, if you can engage them in an activity for even a few minutes is rewarding; it usually triggers memories and opens up avenues to communicate and gain a sense of self-worth.
Tailored art experiences
Our clients enjoy a variety of art and craft activities, but collage is always a favourite. Even if it’s just looking at pictures, the scope to create something personal is there, and it may just need some words of direction. We tailor these sessions to meet individual needs and abilities. The experience of the activity is what’s important, not the end product.
